Bicycle Accidents
Michigan has specific laws for both the operators of motor vehicles and cyclists when it comes to bicycle accidents.
An injured cyclist can sue the at-fault driver for personal injuries suffered in a bicycle accident. You can also sue the owner of the vehicle driven by an at-fault driver. Sadly, however, many Michigan bicycle accidents are caused by a hit and run driver and the injured cyclist does not know the identity of the at-fault driver. In accidents where a cyclist is injured by a hit and run driver, the injured cyclist can receive no-fault insurance benefits, as well as make a claim for uninsured motorist benefits for pain and suffering damages, if the cyclist had an insurance policy that provided this coverage, or if the injured cyclist lived in a household with a relative that had an insurance policy providing this coverage.
If you have been injured by a motor vehicle while riding your bicycle, we can assist you with making the following claims:
Payment of your Medical Bills
Reimbursement for Medical Mileage for driving to and from your medical appointments for your accident-related injuries
Reimbursement of Lost Wages for missed work due to your accident
Reimbursement for any Household Replacement Services provided by others while you are recovering from your injuries (household chores, such as laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc.)
Payment for Attendant Care to those individuals providing you with nursing care or daily living assistance that you needed after your accident due to your accident-related injuries
Were you hit by an at-fault driver of an automobile? You may also be entitled to additional compensation for your Pain and Suffering and any excess economic loss you have sustained.
